Matt James

First and formost Matt is a DJ. Having spent over 10 years as a purely audio DJ, Matt can read a dance floor and rock a party. Now with the added visual show Matts sets are ones that set the dance floor alive. Combining the best music, exclusive video edits (Matt spends hours each week making edits) and the ability to pick tracks that bring back memories as well as the latest club hits you can be sure for a night to remember.


DJ Matt James
Matt James (Full name Matt James Southam) first started DJing at the young age of 15 at his local youth club. Following a few sets the call from friends to DJ at their parties started coming in which in turn led to a local bar offering Matt work on a Friday night.

After a few years djing in bars Matt decided in 2001 to head for sunnier places and spent the following 2 summers in the greek resort of Faliraki working in one of the resorts top RnB & Garage clubs, Sinners. Having spent 6 nights each week DJing along side many of the big names who came out to the resort each year Matt returned with many new skills and unforgettable experience.

Since then Matt has played venues across the south east with residencies in large capacity clubs such as Funktion Rooms, Eastbourne and The Pier, Worthing while promoting events at the now sadly closed (nothing to do with Matt!!) The Green Room. On top of this Matt has entertained guests at private parties in large marquees and stately homes acros the South East of England.

Matt has a huge and diverse music collection and can play across genre. A regular night involves everything from the latest RnB, club classics from the 90s, to indie and chart hits. He is as comfortable playing in a small dirty nightclub as he is in a corporate environment or wine bar.
